POLAND — Firefighters from several towns responded to a report of a detached garage on fire Tuesday on Old County Road, according to Poland Fire Chief Tom Printup.

The two-story building was completely engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 7 p.m., Printup said.

There were no reported injuries, he said. The building and its contents were a complete loss.

Printup said the home’s location is about 2 miles down a dirt camp road with the only practical access from Oxford. This made access difficult for multiple rescue vehicles to navigate, he said.

Assisting Poland Fire Rescue were fire crews from Oxford, Mechanic Falls and Paris. Minot Fire Department provided Poland’s station coverage.
