AUBURN — Occupants of a burning home on Baxter Avenue made it out safely Monday afternoon, Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Fifield said.
Auburn crews were dispatched around 4 p.m. for a fire at 27 Baxter Ave., where crews were met with flames on the outside of the house spreading to the inside of the first floor, Fifield said.
No injuries were reported.
It took about 30 minutes to put the fire out.
The American Red Cross will be assisting the occupants.
Lewiston Fire Department assisted Auburn crews and Central Station coverage was provided by New Gloucester, Mechanic Falls and Poland fire departments.
Fifield said Auburn’s fire investigator was on the scene Monday evening investigating the fire’s cause.
