I visited Lewiston High School on May 3 with the rest of the Lewiston legislative delegation. We got permission to visit the school during a school assembly.

The reason for our visit was to acknowledge and present legislative sentiments for the outstanding achievements students and teachers accomplished this year.

There was boys hockey, which won the state championship, the soccer team that brought home the state championship, the mock trial team that won the state championship, and a singular young woman who was first in cross country.

I am so proud of the students, teachers, and coaches at LHS. What a pleasure it is to serve them in Augusta.

Lewiston has had some bad raps, and indeed overwhelming sadness of late. But we have so much of which to celebrate and be proud.

Rep. Margaret Craven, Lewiston
