100 Years Ago: 1924
Four horses were rescued from the smoky interior of a barn on Holland street, Lewiston, owned by the Valvoline Oil Co., when a quantity of hay got on fire in some unknown manner, shortly after midnight Saturday.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Lewiston has another big money lottery winner in Glen Thibodeau of 124 Bartlett St., who because of winning $1,000, is eligible for the “Play Me” Super drawing.
25 Years Ago: 1999
Students in Marilyn Curtis’s fourth grade class at the Marion T. Morse Elementary School in Lisbon Falls recently celebrated the publishing of a book of original stories and verses called “Tales and Verses to Make You Smile” with a book signing party.
