PORTLAND & ELLSWORTH — More than $69,000 in Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) grants will help strengthen nonprofit organizations and projects in Oxford County. MaineCF’s Oxford County Grantmaking Committee awarded $64,527 to nine organizations through the foundation’s Community Building Grant Program. MaineCF donors with advised funds made two additional grants totaling $4,500.

2024 grantees include:

  • Maine Dragon Boat Club, general support, to create an inclusive environment to unite as a team through dragon boating
  • River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, general support, to promote community health and wellness by partnering with organizations to improve prevention education, food, and support services
  • West Parish Congregational Church, project support, for the WPCC Youth Hub, to provide community affirmation for teens in a safe space for relaxation, sharing food, playing a game, and learning skills.

The Oxford County Fund, established in 1997, is a permanent endowment that supports projects and nonprofit organizations that strengthen communities.
