GIRLS HOCKEY
EDWARD LITTLE/LEAVITT/POLAND/MONMOUTH/OXFORD HILLS 8, PORTLAND/CAPE ELIZABETH/DEERING/SOUTH PORTLAND/WAYNFLETE 3: Leksi Langevin scored five goals, and Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland/Monmouth (1-1-2) got five unanswered goals in the third period to beat Portland/Cape Elizabeth/Deering/South Portland/Waynflete (4-2) at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.
Avery Cologna snapped a 3-3 tie just 48 seconds into the third period. She finished with two goals and an assist, while Kaylee Hudson added a goal and two assists.
Jane Flynn, Marina Bassett and Clio Cook-Sharp scored second-period goals for the host Beacons, erasing a 2-0 deficit.
BOYS HOCKEY
EDWARD LITTLE 6, FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION/OXFORD HILLS 3: Issac Jalbert scored four times and added an assist for the Red Eddies in a victory over Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills (0-2) at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.
Andrew Clements contributed a goal and four assists. Joey Samson also scored, and Jack Caron was credited with three assists.
Conner Richard recorded a goal and an assist for the Ice Cats, Jokubas Mostavicius and Marshall Tibbetts were the other goal scorers, and Gunner Truman had two assists.
Camden Westhoven made 20 saves for Edward Little. Charlie Herrick stopped 18 shots for the Ice Cats.
BOYS BASKETBALL
CARRABEC 46, BUCKFIELD 33: Jackson Newton paced the Cobras (2-0) with 12 points in a win over the Bucks (1-2) at the Augusta Civic Center.
Pete Vicneire recorded 11 points and Desmond Robinson finished with 10.
Nolan Litchfield tallied 19 points for Buckfield.
EDWARD LITTLE 51, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 40: Akol Maiwen led the Red Eddies (2-1) with 21 points in a win over the Broncos (1-1) in Auburn.
Diing Maiwen contributed 13 points for Edward Little.
Liam Henghen tallied 17 points for Hampden.
ISLESBORO 59, RANGELEY 44: Harper Conover poured in 24 points to lead the Eagles (1-0) past the Lakers (1-2) at the Augusta Civic Center.
Conover hit a pair of 3-pointers and shot 8 of 8 at the free-throw line. Finley Conover added 12 points and Jaykob Zollman had 10.
Rangeley’s Sam Morrill also scored 24 points, which included four 3s.
TELSTAR 60, TEMPLE ACADEMY 49: Connor Deprey drained three 3-pointers and led the Rebels (3-0) with 19 points in their win over the Bereans at the Augusta Civic Center.
Reiley Hedden also made three 3s for Telstar and finished with 11 points, while Jonathan Marshall added 10 points.
Temple’s Peyton Reckards led all scorers with 31 points, including 10-of-14 shooting from the free-throw line. Liam Willey had 10 points.
