Tim Spohrer cuts thorns from rose stems Monday afternoon at Val’s Flower Boutique on Lisbon Street in Lewiston. Owner Jayne Bergeron said they had just received a shipment of over 1,000 roses and carnations for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday. More deliveries are scheduled to arrive from other vendors over the next few days. “It’s the second busiest holiday of the season for us, a close second to Mother’s Day,” Bergeron said as she headed off to the cooler with a batch ready for arrangements.
