AUBURN — An Androscoggin County grand jury on Tuesday indicted a local man on 14 charges stemming from a shooting and stabbing at a party on Smith Street in January.

Chase Snow, 18, faces four counts of elevated aggravated assault, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of reckless conduct with a firearm, and one count each of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapon and discharge of a firearm near a dwelling.

Snow is being held on $250,000 bail at Androscoggin County Jail.

Police responded around 3:20 a.m. Jan. 4 to 45 Smith St. for reports of a shooting and stabbing.

A group of adults and juveniles were partying at the residence when a fight broke out, according to witnesses.

Prosecutors say Snow was heavily intoxicated and stabbed a male juvenile in the upper arm and bicep before shooting at two adult men.

One of the men was shot in the hand and in the back. The other was shot in the neck and throat and was discovered unconscious due to blood loss.

The victims were transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston in serious but stable condition. All victims survived.

After Snow’s arrest, police conducted a search of his home, where they found more weapons, prosecutors said.

Due to the presence of alcohol at the residence, occupants Daniel Day, 19, and his mother, Wendy Day, 57, were charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol.
