1. Lewiston: The graduation of sprinter and hurdler Jenni Flynn is a major loss for the Blue Devils, but Lewiston should still have a strong team. Kaiya Poulin, a junior, should contend for a KVAC Class A title in the 55-meter dash and is likely to earn points in the 200. She will also compete on the 800 relay team that is the reigning KVAC champion. Asha Hassan (standout in 200 and 400) and Christie Mabi (55, 200, hurdles) were also on that relay team. Other contributors for Lewiston include seniors Virginia Foss (hurdles, jumps), Grace Morgan (shot put) and Lubesso Sauca (400, 1,600, triple jump), and sophomore Scarlett Perry (pole vault, sprints).

2. Leavitt: A perennial contender in KVAC B, the Hornets again are fielding a strong team. Sophomore Reese Bilodeau enters the season as the favorite to win the conference 55-meter dash and also has a shot to win the 200. Senior Carina Castagna is the conference’s No. 2 returner in the 55 hurdles, long jump and high jump, and she should be a top-five threat in all three events at the state championships. Juniors Natalie Moody (jumps) and Addyson Turmel (800, 1,600, 3,200 relay) are other noteworthy athletes for a team looking to notch a fifth consecutive top-three finish in the KVAC B meet.

3. Edward Little: Few sprinters in KVAC A are likely to rack up more points than Red Eddies senior Kaisley Marquis, a title threat in the 55, 200 and 400. Junior Aaliyah Iffih should also make the podium in the 55 and 200. Between Iffih, senior Imani Downing and sophomores Mckinley Mulliner and Amiya Powell, the 800 relay team that placed second at KVACs returns intact. Downing (sprints/jumps), seniors Ari Luke (sprints) and Jade Lamontagne (distance), and junior Aurora Martel (shot put) are also back for a squad that co-coaches Rick Smith and Angie Jalbert expect to contend.
