Four Dirigo wrestlers won their weight class to help the Cougars win the Mountain Valley Conference title on Saturday in Rumford.
Caiden Skidgell (144), Leighton Waite (165), Tanner Bradeen (175) and Xavier Ocasio (215) were individual winners for Dirigo, which finished with 191.5 points. Mountain Valley was second with 140 and Monmouth/Richmond/Winthrop was third with 138.5.
Chance Watson, who won the 138 title for Mountain Valley, was named the conference’s wrestler of the year.
BOYS BASKETBALL
POLAND 73, TRAIP ACADEMY 34: Nick Jamo recorded 24 points, five assists and three steals as the Knights (9-5) beat the Rangers (4-10) in Kittery.
Jake Jamo added 23 points, six rebounds and six assists for Poland.
Nathan Carter and Jack Kern both had 11 points for Traip Academy.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
POLAND 68, TRAIP ACADEMY 17: Charlotte Grenier scored 14 points to lead the Knights (10-4) past the Rangers (4-10) in Poland.
Julia Paradis added 13 points for Poland.
Rorie Ford scored five points for Traip.
