Gilead residents will gather for a town meeting at 6 p.m. March 28 at Town Hall to vote on about 37 articles, which are still being finalized.

Select Board Chair Bob Ensslen reviewed the articles at the Dec. 10 meeting. Ensslen later outlined the town’s 2026 priorities in his quarterly newsletter, which is not yet available.

Ensslen said proposed items at the March town meeting include Town Hall improvements, new equipment for the Transfer Station, and construction of a building to house the town plow truck and other equipment.

Voters will also decide whether to repair the Leary Brook bridge and French Brook culvert on North Road, which is used by Pike Industries and a privately owned sand pit company.

Ensslen reminded residents of the services funded by their taxes, including access to the Androscoggin River for boating and fishing, permitting and licensing, upkeep of town buildings and cemeteries, removal of roadkill from town roads, use of Town Hall for public functions, plowing and sanding town roads, cemetery plots, access to the Bethel Library and food pantry, and Fire Department and Transfer Station services.
