AUBURN — On Friday, March 25, three professional actors appearing in The Public Theatre’s production of “Humble Boy” will give an informal reading of a new, full-length play by George Tynan Crowley at the Auburn Public Library.

At noon, Sandra Blaney, Joyce Cohen and Crowley will read from “Most Happy: A Story of Anne Boleyn,” which traces the arc of Anne Boleyn’s life, from newly arrived lady-in-waiting at the court of King Henry VIII, to Henry’s second Queen consort, to her beheading on charges of adultery after she failed to produce a male heir.

The play explores her proto-feminism, her zeal to free religion from papism and Spanish influence, her love relationship with Tudor poet Thomas Wyatt and the gradual solidification of a tyrant state under Henry VIII.

Crowley has worked extensively in regional theater and has written plays professionally since 2000.

The reading in the library’s conference room is free. The library is at 49 Spring St. For more information, call 333-6640 extension 4.
