RUMFORD — The opening reception for Pennacook Art Center’s April/May show at the River Valley Technology Center has been postponed from Friday, April 1, to Friday, April 8, because of the weather.

The River Valley Growth Council and Pennacook invite the public to meet the artists and view the art at a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. It will feature refreshments, a door prize and a guest appearance by performance/concept artist, Elijah W. Andersen.

Andersen will be on hand to produce another work in his series, “Sculpture in Negative Space.” The piece will be offered at auction at the end of the evening.

The art show will include paintings, drawings, handweaving and photographs by local art professionals. The art is for sale through the Growth Council, and a portion of the proceeds will go to support its operations. The exhibit is available for viewing during the technology center’s regular office hours until the first week in June.
