Quilters to meet

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday April 11, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.

A spring flowered fabric swap will take place. Those taking part should provide at least 30  6 1/2-inch squares cut from 100 percent cotton fabric that has been washed, dried and ironed. Show and Tell will be welcome. All area quilters are invited. For more information, call 562-7050.

Circle meeting

RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m.  Tuesday, April 12, at the Parish of the Holy Savior Church Hall.

Committee members are Chairwomen Angela Arsenault and Jane Giasson; Priscilla Marquis, Marjorie Brown, Gloria Sirois, Lynn Lepage and Thelma Giherson. Sharon Gates is a new member. Member Sylvena Mahar has died.

The anniversary dinner will take place on Sunday, May 1, at the church hall. A corporate communion will also take place on May 1 at the 9:30 a.m. Mass.

Class luncheon

MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Covered Wagon Restaurant for a luncheon meeting.

Society to meet

PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the home of Robert and Shirley Dolloff.

Friday fish fry

RUMFORD — A Friday Fish Fry will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, at St. Athanasius and St. John’s Church Hall, 126 Maine St. Proceeds will benefit Holy Savior Parish and School.

The menu will include fried haddock, potatoes, homemade coleslaw and rolls, homemade cake and coffee or punch. There will also be a homemade macaroni and cheese meal option. Cost is $8 for adults; $6, children ages 4 to 12; children, 3 and under, free.

Take-out is available. St. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance at Hair Design, Oxford Lanes, Davis Florist and Holy Savior School. For more information, call 364-2528.

Free concert

MEXICO — The University of Maine School of Performing Arts will present the UMaine Symphonic Band in a free concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Mountain Valley Middle School.
