MORRISVILLE, Vt. — The gazebo in the garden of New Beginnings Miracle Fellowship in Morrisville, Vt., was the setting for the lovely morning wedding of Michael A. Bishop and the Rev. Jane E. Dibden on June 25. The Rev. Michael Ford presided over the single-ring ceremony in which Arthur Schwab, son of the bride provided a vocal solo, as well as a song he shared with his sisters. He also escorted his mother to the altar.

Florrie Bishop Johnson of Morrisville, Vt., stood up with her brother, the bridegroom, and the maid of honor for the bride was Pastor Lisa P. Schwab of Vassalboro. Bridesmaids were the daughters of the bride, Amy A. Schwab of Vassalboro and Jasmine R. Schwab of Johnson, Vt. The flower girl and ring bearer combinded was Jessica R. Schwab of Johnson, Vt.

The colors for the wedding were pink, blue and white. The receiving line was in the gazebo immediately following the ceremony. Afterwards, guests met in the fellowship hall of the church to enjoy finger-food and a spice wedding cake, all made by daughter, Amy Schwab. The daughters of the bride and nieces served the food. The nieces are Emilee, Sarah and Michele Dibden of Augusta. Michele Dibden also caught the bouquet. The couple opened their presents and then left for a wedding trip in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Guests came from Alaska, Massachusetts, Maine and various towns in Vermont. The couple reside with the bride’s three minor children in Johnson, Vt.

Rev. Dibden is the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur J. Dibden, president of Johnson State College in the late 1960s for whom Dibden Center for the Arts is named. She returned to Johnson in 2010. She is a 1976 graduate of Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, Colby College in Waterville in 1980 and ORU Seminary in Tulsa, Okla., in 1987. She resigned her pastorate in Vassalboro last year and currently pastors New Commandment Christian Fellowship in Johnson. She also is a substitute teacher for area schools.

Mr. Bishop’s career with Midas and Meineke took him to Vermont, Maine and Georgia. He is retired from being the Southeast district manager for Meineke based in Atlanta. He returned to Johnson in 2007. He is a 1993 graduate of Lamoille Union High School, Hyde Park, Vt.

They were schoolmates at Johnson Central in the late 1960s.
