PARIS — In honor of January being Vocational Service month, the Oxford Hills Rotary Club has invited guest speakers to come to our meetings and share their vocation with the members. Each speaker is thanked and presented with a framed certificate of appreciation.

Recently, newly retired Norway Fire Chief Dennis Yates shared his vocation and said he has worked for the Norway FD for 48 years, serving as chief for the last 13 years. Dennis said he had used the Rotary 4 Way Test, but never knew where it had come from!

MSAD 17 Interim Superintendent Heather Manchester spoke about her extensive educational background, both as a teacher and an administrator. We’re hoping ‘interim’ gets dropped soon and she is hired as our full-time Superintendent. For more information, go to ohrotary.org or find us on Facebook.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
