LEWISTON — Police responded Saturday night to reports of gunfire on Blake Street in Lewiston, according to officials.
Lt. Derrick St. Laurent of the Lewiston Police Department said officers responded at 8:20 p.m. to the Maple Knoll Apartments at 253 Blake St. for reports of gunshots.
Police said they found a vehicle riddled with bullet holes, a firearm and many shell casings at the complex’s parking lot, St. Laurent said.
Witnesses said a man exited a vehicle on Blake Street and approached the parking lot, shooting at an occupied vehicle. A nearby building was also hit, St. Laurent said.
The suspect and victim fled the scene in their respective vehicles.
St. Laurent said there was no indication anyone had been hit by the gunfire.
Police were still investigating the incident Sunday, St. Laurent said.
Anyone with information on the shooting can contact Detective Crystal Lachance at 207-513-3001.
