MEXICO — Police on Wednesday identified a woman who died in a fire on Tucker Street last week as 23-year-old Lacey Tidswell of Mexico.
On Sept. 26, fire and rescue crews were called to 5 Tucker St. about 7 a.m. for a reported house fire. When fire crews arrived, they found fire on the front porch area, investigators said.
“Firefighters were able to rescue one female from the residence using a ladder. She was not injured,” according to a news release from the state Department of Public Safety.
After firefighters snuffed out the flames, they found Tidswell deceased inside the home.
The Office of State Fire Marshal was investigating. No new details about the origin of the blaze were released and the cause of Tidswell’s death was not disclosed.
