DEAR SUN SPOTS: I just want to thank you for posting a request to learn if anyone else was concerned about the speeding on Quaker Ridge Road in Leeds and Greene (Dec. 18 Sun Spots).

It was seen in Sun Spots, I’m sure, and was also seen on the Nextdoor app by some 300-plus people, but I’m sorry to report, no one has responded.

Meanwhile, we must keep our pets inside, and we’re super careful backing out of our driveway. Thank you for your help; it’s very much appreciated. — No name, no town

ANSWER: I feel for you. I once lived in a neighborhood where automobiles flew down the road with no regard to the 35 mph speed limit, the residents, or even to the fact that there was an elementary school and a children’s center on that stretch. Crossing the road to get my mail and backing out of the driveway was very challenging.

Please don’t give up on making your neighborhood safe. As I suggested previously, take your concerns to your municipal office and to the local police department or county sheriff. At least you’ll get some peace of mind knowing that you did everything you could, and perhaps you’ll even save lives because you spread awareness of this situation.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A couple of weeks ago I read about the person who was trying to get in touch with Consolidated Communications (Dec. 30 Sun Spots). I hope the following information will help them:

I was a customer of Consolidated Communications right up until  Nov. 1, 2023, at which time they became Fidium Fiber. The company can be reached at 1-844-434-3486.

I have the same account number that I’ve had all along with the same e-mail address.

I sure hope this helps. I also had the ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program). The government discontinued this last year, but with any luck, they will bring it back. The mailing address for Fidium Fiber is P.O. Box 70347, Philadelphia, PA. 19176-0347. — No name, no town
