AUGUSTA — From Friday to Sunday, March 7-9, nonresidents (from another state or province) may operate a snowmobile in Maine as long as they have a valid registration from another state or province.
Trails are expected to have increased traffic, especially in areas near Maine’s borders, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
Nonresidents planning to participate in the free weekend can register at maine.gov. The form also can be found at forms.office.com.
