The Paris Utility District has shut down water access between 32-77 High St. in South Paris following a reported watermain break Monday morning.

District General Manager Tanya Dunn said crews were quickly able to isolate the problem to the area between Park and Porter streets.

The only accounts currently impacted are on the section of High Street that runs between its intersections at those corners.

As of 3 p.m. Dunn said crews were still digging to repair the pipes but expected service to be restored before Tuesday.

Customers in the area will be put on a boil water order until further notice once water service is restored.

“Anytime there is a pressure loss in the system, it mandates flushing and sample testing,” she said. “As soon as we receive results in the clear, we will cancel the boil order.”

Customers with questions, can call the Paris Utility District at 743-6251.
