Phillips voters elected Justin Vachon to the town’s board of selectmen at a special town meeting on April 18. The meeting was called to fill one of three openings on the town’s board.
Ahead of the Saturday election, only two seats of five were filled on the board after three members resigned recently. Three out of the five members of the board are required for a quorum.
Vachon was elected to fill the third seat. He won with 30 votes over Larry Pinkham’s 24 votes.
Vachon will remain on the board until the June 20 annual town meeting, where his seat and the two unfilled seats will be back up for election.
