The wind caused havoc across the state, knocking a tree down on several homes in Mechanic Falls and causing power outages just about everywhere. Central Maine Power worked throughout the day to restore power to an estimated 6,000 customers after wind and tree limbs downed power lines. By Thursday night, that number was down to about 500, most in Oxford County.
