Local travel basketball results:

Grade 5 Boys

Auburn/Lewiston YMCA 45, Gardiner 13: The “Y” took control from the onset and never looked back in a victory over the visitors from Gardiner to improve to 2-0 on the season. The “Y” used an impressive balanced attack to notch the victory. Daniel Nalley and Ryan Therriault led the way with eight points each. Caleb Yarnevich was next with seven, followed by Ethan Brown, Mohamed Mohamed and Devaunte Rembert with six each. Keegan Pelletier and Austin Brown each added a bucket to round out the scoring. Spencer Morrill and Christian Beliveau were other key contributors for the “Y”.

Matthew Boynton led the scoring for Gardiner with six. Cameron Babcock added five and Davis Ballou two to round out the scoring.

Grade 6 Boys

Auburn/Lewiston YMCA 44, Hall Dale 18: Ten of the 11 players on the roster found the scoresheet as the “Y” notched an impressive win over Hall Dale on Sunday. The “Y” is now 1-0 on the season. Ben English had nine points to lead the winners. Tyler Swanbeck and Patrick Luizzo were close behind with eight each. Jacob Kyajohnian (six), Jaelen Coney (three), Jahvon Coney (two), Richard Thurston (two), Tyler Morin (two), Tyler Libby (two) and Grant Hartley (two) were the other scorers for the winners. Abdul Mohamed made his presence felt on both ends of the floor as well.

Tyler Nadeau led Hall Dale with eight points. Owen DuPont added four, Johnny Wolfington (three), Chad Smith (two) and Dylan Pooler one to supplement the offense.

Grade 5-6 Girls

Auburn/Lewiston YMCA 36, Waterville 11: Grace Beaudet took it hard to the basket for a game-high 10 points to lead the “Y” to an impressive victory over Waterville. The “Y” moved to 2-0 on the season. Piper Norcross played well on both ends and added eight points. Emmy Lashua had seven on a strong shooting night. Lauren Jutras controlled the boards and joined Grace Fontaine with four points. Taylor Depot and Jade Perry combined for the final three points for the “Y”. Courtney Richards, Sarah Sterling and Teagan Galway were other key contributors to the win.

Grade 7-8 Girls

River Valley Hornets (Turner) 33, Central Maine Hoops (Waterville) 9: The Hornets led by 11 after the first half, then clamped down on defense in the second half and opened the lead to win easily. The Hornets were balanced in the score book with seven players in the mix. Ashley Kelley led the way with 10 points and Cassidy Bunker added six.
