LEWISTON — Police arrested a 14-year-old Lewiston boy Sunday afternoon following a mugging on Walnut Street.

Sgt. Brian O’Malley of the Lewiston Police Department said the juvenile robbed a 11-year-old Lewiston girl shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday. The boy made off with the youngster’s purse and a small amount of cash.

The boy was found a short time later in the downtown Lewiston area. He was charged with robbery and taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
