LEWISTON — The following parenting classes will be offered by Advocates for Children.

A three-session program for parents with children ages 1-4 will be offered at two locations. Learn discipline methods that work, how to prevent tantrums, routines to make life easier and more.

Thursdays, Feb. 2, 9 and 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Advocates for Children. To register call 783-3990. Fee includes a $15 handbook.

Tuesdays, March 6, 13 and 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Turner Adult Education. To register call 225-3478. Registration is required.

Boot Camp for New Dads will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Advocates for Children. The program is for men who are expecting a new baby and want to better prepare themselves for their new parenting role. New dads are encouraged to attend with their baby, 0-3 months. The program is free but registration is required. To register call 783-3990.

Kids First Parenting Through Separation and Divorce is a four-hour program for parents who are in the process of separation or divorce, who wish to lessen the negative impact experienced by their children. The dates for this event are Jan. 14, Feb. 11 and March 10. The classes start at 8 a.m. and run until noon. The fee is $60 but there are limited scholarships available. Registration is required. Active Parenting Now, for parents of children ages 5-12, is a six-session workshop to help parents raise responsible children who are able to resist negative peer pressure. Learn effective discipline techniques and encouragement skills. Sessions will run March 8 through April 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Advocates for Children. The fee is $15, which includes a handbook.
