JAY — Funeral services for Merton Clifford Farrington of Jay were held Saturday from the Wiles Remembrance Center, with Rhonda Wiles-Rosell as celebrant. Remembrances written by his grandchildren, Chris McHugh and Donna Farrington Jewell were shared in the service and grandchildren, Dixie Bonnevie, Melissa Fochesato, Cody Farrington and Jason Farrington delivered their own personal eulogies. Long-time family friend, Tina Bonnevie also spoke and shared a personal “pass it on” story about Merton’s memorable birthday gift to her that positively influenced her life and consequently, the lives of many other youngsters. She presented his wife, Beverly, with a rose, in remembrance of Merton’s kindness. Following services, a family reception was held at the Center. Winter entombment is at the funeral home. Spring committal services will be held on Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at the Webster Cemetery, Farmington.
