LEWISTON — The Stanton Bird Club of Lewiston and Auburn will host the second of seven twice-monthly bird walks on Wednesday, June 13. All walks are from 8 to 11 a.m. and are free and open to all.
For this walk, leaders Stan and Joan DeOrsey and Carol Jack ask participants to meet at 8 a.m. at the Promenade Mall parking lot, near Staples, 855 Lisbon St.
All will travel to the Cathance River Preserve in Topsham to see late migrants and summer birds. The leaders will identify and comment on birds seen and heard. Each walk is approximately two miles long on an even and dry surface.
The leaders suggest that participants bring binoculars and dress in layers to be flexible for the weather. They will hold the walk even if it is drizzling, but if there is steady rain by 7 a.m. and it is projected to continue to 10 a.m., the walk will be canceled.
