Coach: Dick Mynahan (25th year)

Last year’s record: 7-3, lost in Western C semifinal

Returning players: Seniors — Casey Garrison (T/DT), Ryan Brewer (C), Mason Haley (TB/LB), Brandon Hovey (TE/CB), Ryan Riordan (QB/CB), Kyle Sheehan (FB/MLB); Juniors — Quincy Thompson (TB/WB), Jordan Torres (RB).

Key losses: Zach Splude (RB/QB/LB), Tyler Greene (HB/DB), Aaron Boyington (WR/DB), Dalton Dunphy (OL/DL), Cody Donovan (OL/DL), Chase Hunter (OL/DL), Cam Graf (WR/FS).

Promising newcomers: Senior — Devin Pesce (NG); Sophomore — Joe Philbrick (G/LB).

Outlook: The strengths of last year’s team, backfield depth, quickness and defense, should carry over into this season. But like last year’s team, the Greyhounds will have to overcome some adversity, as five starters will be academically ineligible for the first two games. Haley, Thompson and Torres all bring explosiveness to the running and passing games, while Sheehan picks up the tough inside yards. With more size than usual up front, the Greyhounds could be tough to stop on the ground. Sheehan leads a stout defense that will have to be particularly stingy in September.

Coach’s comment: “When everyone is available, we do have a good-looking backfield. It could certainly be our strength.” — Coach Dick Mynahan
