LISBON — The Lisbon Community School Parent Teacher Organization has announced, in preparation for the Spring Auction Fundraiser, that they are now accepting donations. The auction, to be held May 4 at the school, will benefit special programs at the school.
“The LCS PTO funds five to seven field trips per year for hundreds of our students and about a half dozen free special events throughout the year for the families at the school,” LCS PTO chairwoman Angela Shambarger said. “Without the additional funding from PTO fundraisers, like the auction, many of these programs just wouldn’t happen.”
Currently, the auction committee is looking for individuals with skills or hobbies that they would like to donate for auction and businesses that would like to contribute products or services.
“This is going to be a great event to support our students. Community support has been great so far,” auction chairwoman Heather Cronin said. “We have had some great early donors, like Q97.9, Maine Limousine, Monkey C Monkey Do in Wiscasset, Patriot Cinemas in Portland and Sea Mist Photography, but we’re still quite a ways from our goal of 100 auction items.”
“We could really use gift certificates from businesses to build some great packages. Restaurants, hair and nail salons, tanning or auto maintenance gift cards could be bundled into pampering packages, ‘A Night on the Town’ or vehicle maintenance packages,” said PTO volunteer Gary Hauger. “Someone could bid on a package that has dinner, a movie and maybe some shopping. A lot of bidders could get excited about that.”
The auction committee will accept contributions until the first of April. To make a contribution or to find out more, contact the LCS PTO Auction Committee by phone at (207) 423-7566 or visit the auction team on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lcsauction.
