Fathers are often harder to buy gifts for than mothers, but fortunately, they like homemade gifts just as much as mothers do. Here are some gift ideas that kids can make easily.

• Acrylic paint sealer spray
1. Paint the rock and let it dry.
2. Apply a thin layer of gold glitter glue to the rock and let it dry.
3. Write “Dad Rocks” in gold glitter glue on the rock and let it dry overnight.
4. Outline the letters in black marker.
5. Spray the rock with acrylic paint sealer in a well-ventilated area and let it dry.
Fishing Visor
• Plain visor

1. Write “Go Fish” on the visor using the permanent marker, paint pen or foamie letters.
2. Decorate the visor with foamie stickers.
3. Cut the wooden skewer in half and glue it to the top lip of the visor to make a fishing pole.
4. Tie the cord to the fishing pole.
5. Make a hook for the bottom of the cord with the silver pipe cleaner.
Pat on the Back Shirt
• Men’s T-shirt
• Fabric paint
1. Make handprints on the back of the T-shirt.
2. Write “This Dad Needs a Pat on the Back” on the back of the shirt.
Stress Ball

• Sand
• Permanent markers
1. Fill the balloon with sand and tie a knot near the end.
2. Decorate the stress ball with markers.
Western Bookmark
• Yard-long suede cord
• Tacky glue
• 4 turquoise pony beads
• 4 red pony beads
• 4 ivory pony beads
• 4 silver pony beads
• 2 Conchos
• Scissors
1. Fold the cord in half and tie an overhand knot an inch from the fold.
2. Spread a thin layer of tacky glue near the knot.
3. Slide a turquoise, red, ivory and silver bead on each cord.
4. String on the Conchos and then another set of beads.
5. Tie a knot underneath and trim the cords.
This is a small representation of the gifts kids could make for Dad. Keep in mind that the child’s age plays an important part in the types of crafts they can make. Always supervise children when using scissors or spray materials.
