LISBON — The Lisbon Library Summer Reading Program, “Explore Maine,” will begin Tuesday, June 18, with Chewonki Foundation’s “Endangered Species” presentation. Participants will learn about endangered animals and how we can help protect them.
This year’s theme is “Explore Maine.” To encourage reading and learning about Maine, Maine authors and book exhibits will be featured each week. In addition, the library will display weekly tips and information about nearby fun and educational destinations. Participants will put a sticker on a Maine map to show where they’ve been and they’ll decorate a canvas square with a scene from their travels.

June 25: Maine Animal Puppet Show featuring the Living Word Home School Puppeteers.
July 2: Jackson Gillman presents “Tales From Maine.”
July 9: Maine Game Warden A.J. Guerette, Map and Compass Treasure Hunt.
July 16: Friends of Merrymeeting Bay, Birds of Maine.
July 23: Maine Craft Time.
July 29: Gregory McAdams and his trusty dog Axel, “Digging Up Clues.”
