AUBURN — Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre will hold an audition for dance and dialogue at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31, for its production of “Miss Saigon.” The audition will be closed for vocals.
The musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg will be staged Aug. 14-23 at Great Falls Performing Arts Center, 30 Academy St.
Richard Martin directs the classic love story with assistance from Beth Barefoot, musical director; and Lacey Moyse, choreography.
The show has a large cast: Chris, a young, tormented American G.I. late teens, early 20s; pop tenor; Kim, a young and naïve, but strong-willed Vietnamese woman, age 17-21, mezzo-soprano; the Engineer, greasy wheeler-dealer, age 30-40, high baritone; Thuy, 20, pop tenor, determined Vietnamese military leader, promised to Kim.
Other roles include related family members/friends, a Saigon stripper, Vietnamese girls, vendors, tourists, soldiers and Embassy workers.
Audition requirements: Prepare a song showing vocal range and ability; bring sheet music (accompanist will be provided); wear comfortable clothing; be prepared to learn a dance routine.
