LISBON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Robert R. Morency Sr. was celebrated on Saturday morning by the Rev. Lionel Chouinard at Holy Trinity Church. At the beginning of Mass, Robert’s wife, Claudette, helped drape her husband’s casket with a white burial pall that signifies Robert’s Baptism into a new spiritual life with God. During Mass, readings were proclaimed by Robert’s daughters-in-law, MaryAnn and Lynnette Morency. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Robert’s four sons, Robert Jr., Michael, Daniel and Marc Morency. Prior to the conclusion of Mass, words of remembrance were shared by Robert’s grandchildren, Deanna and Brian Morency, Jeanna Hodgdon, Samantha and Ian Morency, who then concluded with singing a song he had written in honor of his grandfather. The pallbearers were Brian, Samantha, Deanna, Ian , Coleman, and Danielle Morency, as well as Jeanna Hodgdon. All in attendance were then invited to a reception of fellowship at Robert and Claudette’s home in Lisbon. Burial with military honors will be held Thursday, July 11, 10 a.m., at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements by Dillingham & Son Memorial Chapel, Auburn.
