NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library staff are inviting youngsters to “Dig into Reading” this summer.
The program will involve free activities for school-age children on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Themes include gardening, trucks, mining, the ice age, animals, geography and archeology. Registration is required for all programs. These are drop-off programs for children who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade.
Registration for the summer reading program began at the library last week with a visit from Slugger, the mascot of the Sea Dogs baseball team in Portland.
To register for the summer reading program, participants simply need to pick up a reading record sheet and get a voucher for a free ticket to a Sea Dogs game.
Registration is available in the Children’s Department of the library, 258 Main St. in Norway or by calling 743-5309, ext. 4. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
