CHESTERVILLE — A Franklin County deputy is investigating a burglary at a residence on Horseshoe Pond Road.
It was reported at 8:13 a.m. Saturday that clothes and trash bags were strewn around on the second floor of a house, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.
The back door to the residence appeared to have been forced open, according to Deputy Colt Sleaster’s report, he said.
A BB gun pistol, valued at about $100, was stolen, Nichols said.
The resident told deputies that she had not been home on Friday between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Deputies saw bicycle tracks near the house, he said.
Sleaster was assisted by Cpl. Christopher Chase at the scene.
