LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Claudette Carbonneau was concelebrated by the Rev. Marc Caron and the Rev. Arthur Roux, and attending in the sanctuary was Deacon Irenee Richard OP, Tuesday morning, Aug. 27, at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.

At the beginning of Mass, Claudette’s brother and sister, Paul and Sister Carmen Carbonneau draped their sister’s casket with a white burial pall that signifies Claudette’s Baptism into a new spiritual life with God. During the Mass, Sister Carmen Carbonneau proclaimed the word of God from the New Testament. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by grandniece Suzanne Davis. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Carbonneau. Claudette’s niece, Diane MacDonald, was soloist during Mass, singing “Ava Maria” and “Pipie Jesu,” and words of remembrance were shared by Lorraine Gagnon. A delegation of secular Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate of Lowell, Mass., were also in attendance.

The pallbearers were Alex, Andy and Collette Carbonneau, as well as Ryan and John Macienjewsky.

Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Rev. Caron, the Rev. Roux and Deacon Irenee all recited committal prayers at the interment. At the conclusion of prayers, all were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
