LEWISTON — On May 4, more than 125 friends, supporters and family, Democrats and Republicans attended a tribute to Honorable Margaret Craven and Honorable Rep. Michael Carey at the Elks Lodge. Senator Craven is leaving the Maine Senate to stay closer to home and family. Rep. Carrey is termed out and will be graduating May 17 from the University of Maine Law School and plans to practice law in the Twin Cities.
Rep. Nathan Libby served as the master of ceremonies.
Proclamations were read into the U.S. House of Representatives on May 1 by Congressman Michael Michaud to acknowledge their hard work and dedication for the State of Maine. Copies of the proclamations were presented by Andrea Quaide, Michaud’s aide.
Other awards and recognition were presented by Libby.
Many dignitaries attended. The highlight of the afternoon event was the featured speaker, Rep. Peggy Rotundo with her praises and tidbits about both Craven and Carey.
The event was a fun social afternoon with desserts and coffee. The event was sponsored by a host committee of dignitaries and the Lewiston Democratic City Committee.
