BETHEL – Kristy Lynn Palmer and Andrew Gordon Bishop were united in marriage on May 24 at the Bethel Alliance Church in Bethel. Glenn Carver officiated at the ceremony. The reception followed at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Summit Hotel located at Sunday River in Newry.

The bride is the daughter of Matthew and Terri Palmer of Rumford and granddaughter of Avis Orino and the late Arthur Orino of Mexico, and Leah Palmer and the late Stanley Palmer of Mexico. The bridegroom is the son of Dennis and Pamela Bishop of Lowville, N.Y., and the grandson of Cecil and Lucy Bishop of Lowville, N.Y., and the late David and Betty Bell of Ogdensburg, N.Y.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The maid of honor was Lyndee Palmer, sister of the bride. The best man was Jon Widrick, friend of the bridegroom.

The bridesmaids were Jill Ortlieb, sister of the bridegroom, Kelly Palmer, cousin of the bride, Karen Moore, friend of the bride, and Dana Thibodeau friend of the bride. Groomsmen were Craig Ortlieb, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Josh Lehman, Jeff McCrady and Adam Thibodeau, friends of the bridegroom.

The flower girl was Jenna Ortlieb, niece of the bridegroom. The ring bearer was Jared Ortlieb, nephew of the bridegroom.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, a 2004 graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in chemical engineering, and a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a master’s degree in business administration. She is employed as an environmental regulatory consultant at Woodard & Curran in Portland.

The bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Lowville Academy in Lowville, N.Y., and a 1999 graduate of Clarkson University with a degree in civil engineering. He is employed by Nestle Waters North America as project manager at the Poland Spring Bottling Plant in Kingfield.

The couple honeymooned on the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai and Maui, and currently reside at their home in Carrabassett Valley.
