TURNER – Daniel and Shirley DiMambro of Turner celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on Aug. 16. The event was a 1950s theme, with the guests of honor dressed for the occasion, Mrs. DiMambro in a poodle skirt with scarves and Mr. DiMambro in jeans and tee shirt with slicked back hair and leather jacket.
The couple arrived at the American Legion Hall in Auburn in a 1949 Mercury driven by friends, Norm and Muriel Gagne. The couple renewed their vows with new rings and standing with them were daughter, Tammy, and Clayton Saucier. Music from the 1950s and 1960s was played.
The couple was married Dec. 29, 1973. They were high school sweethearts and met in 1964 at the PAL Hop in Lewiston. They took a trip to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut for their anniversary trip.
