LEWISTON – William and Harriet Stretton of Lewiston recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at their home in Lewiston. Party hosts were their children, Bill and Joe Stretton and Sherri Turcotte. More than 50 family and friends attended the gathering.

A video collage was featured, displaying photos and memories from past years. Also on display were silver frames with black and white wedding photos of the couple. Silver tins featuring a wedding photo of the couple were given as party favors.

Mr. Stretton and the former Harriet York were married Aug. 2, 1968, at Poland Community Church. They have three children, Bill Stretton and wife, Rachel, Joe Stretton, and Sherri Turcotte and her husband, Mark. Their grandchildren include Kyle, Drew and Alex Stretton, and Max and Sarah Turcotte. They also have a great-granddaughter, Maleah Stretton-Dupont.

Mrs. Stretton is employed at TD Banknorth in Lewiston. She is a past matron and member of the Eastern Star.

Mr. Stretton is retired from the city of Lewiston and is a 33rd Degree Mason, past grand patron of the Eastern Star and a member of Kora Temple.
