Auburn watercolor painter Edward Dwyer will be among seven Maine artists displaying work in the library building gallery just north of Mackerel Cove as part of Bailey Island’s Labor Day weekend art show. The gallery will open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. Aug. 29 through Labor Day. A retired Lewiston High School administrator, Dwyer has taken part in the show for five years. Subjects for his paintings and note cards often reflect his avid outdoor interests. For example, Dwyer planned and led five backpacking expeditions to the high eastern Canadian Arctic and chaired the Baxter State Park advisory committee.
