MVHS teachers to be honored at Sea Dogs game
RUMFORD — The Portland Sea Dogs will hold Teacher Appreciation Night on Thursday, April 23.
Mountain Valley High School Principal Matt Gilbert selected several staff members to nominate for the honor. The nominees are Mary Gamble, Trina Fortin, Gretchen Fall, Debbie Buotte, Peggy LaPointe and Debi Briggs.
In addition to free tickets and reduced ticket prices for their families, the staff members will be part of an on-field recognition ceremony, if they choose to attend the game.
Stephens High Class of 1961 to meet
RUMFORD — Stephens High School Class of 1961 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, at LaFleur’s Restaurant in Jay.

United Methodist to host chicken pie supper
RUMFORD — The Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street, will hold its semi-annual chicken pie supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25.
The cost of admission will be $9, and children younger than 12 will be $5.
Mexico High Class of 1949 to meet
MEXICO — The Mexico High School Class of 1949 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Dick’s restaurant.
Spouses and friends are welcome.
Newman Cemetary Association to meet
CARTHAGE — The Newman Cemetery Association will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 30.
Reports will be read, officers chosen and all other business will be addressed.
The Association will be accepting bids for the care of the cemeteries in Carthage. All bids must be submitted for consideration by April 30. Bids can be mailed to Rebecca Hutchinson at 132 Carthage Road, Carthage, ME 04224.
