LEWISTON – While broadcast of MPBN’s Great TV Auction may be over, the annual fundraiser for the Maine Public Broadcasting Network still has one event left – a live art auction scheduled for Sunday, May 20.

It will be from 1 to 5 p.m. at Fuel, the restaurant directly adjacent to L/A Arts’ Gallery 5, where the art is now on display. The gallery will open at noon to allow for preregistration and to give patrons another chance to view the art up close before the auction begins.

Set to go on the auction block are nearly 200 works of art, including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, glass, and fabric art.

“The generosity of Kerry and Eric Agren of Fuel allows us for the first time to have a live auction,” said Margie Oxman, MPBN’s director of auction.

Auctioneer Jody McMorrow will be at the podium. Some of the artists who donated works to the auction will be on hand.

There will be refreshments.

Fuel is at 49 Lisbon St. Preregistration is appreciated and encouraged, although not necessary. Call Oxman at 1-800-884-1717.
