RANGELEY — A New Hampshire-based business, Monadnock Art Parties, is expanding to Rangeley this summer.

Rangeley artist Terri Wentzell will instruct participants in how to create their own works of art at The Gingerbread House Restaurant in Oquossoc. The events will be every Tuesday night, starting on June 30 and continuing through the summer. Each night, a different painting is taught, from birches and poppies to sunflowers and a lupine meadow landscape.

Founded in 2013, Monadnock Art Parties has been successfully giving non-artists a venue to create works of original art in a fun, relaxed and casual atmosphere.

The sessions are open to all skill levels but are primarily geared toward beginners. All materials are provided and the painting is completed in a single session. Participants can order drinks and light foods from the restaurant during the event.

Each event includes two to three hours of painting instruction, set-up and cleanup, all supplies and materials, and painting aprons to protect clothing. Each participant will create an original piece of artwork on canvas to take home. Cost will be $50 per person. Dinner and drinks in the host venue are a separate charge.
