GORHAM – The University of Southern Maine Chamber Singers will perform a concert of selected pieces from their most recent tour Tuesday, April 19, in Corthell Concert Hall. Selected songs from this program will be recorded for the group’s fourth CD scheduled to be released this fall.
Works in “The Sacred Space” section include three songs by Anton Bruckner. In “The Love of My Soul” section are “Blackbird/I Will,” by Lennon and McCartney, arranged by Jonathan Rathbone; “I Love My Love,” arranged Gustav Holst; “Amor de mi alma,” by Z. Randall Stroope; “Lavender’s Blue,” arranged by Gordon Langford; and “Over the Rainbow,” by Harold Arlen. “To Behold the Stars” features a medley of songs of the night, including spirituals and contemporary classical pieces.
