More titles by big-name authors are headed our way. They hit bookstores Feb. 6:

“Hide,” by Lisa Gardner (Bantam, $25): The reviews have been terrific for this thriller, which starts with six bodies being unearthed near a former mental hospital. From that point, the plot twists and the mysteries mount up.

“Paper Trails,” by Pete Dexter (Ecco, $25.95): Dexter, a former Sacramento Bee columnist who won the 1988 National Book Award for his novel “Paris Trout,” offers a sampler of his grittiest columns written for The Bee and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“High Profile,” by Robert B. Parker (Putnam, $24.95): The prolific Parker juggles three thriller series: Spenser, Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall. This one stars small-town police chief Stone, whose investigation into two murders seems to be leading nowhere. And then …

“The Alexandria Link,” by Steve Berry (Ballantine, $25.95): Berry wowed readers with two previous “Da Vinci Code”-type thrillers, “The Third Secret” (2005) and “The Templar Legacy” (2006). This time out, the bad guys harass the owner of a rare-books store, whom they believe can give them clues to the whereabouts of the lost library of ancient Alexandria. Then come the globetrotting and the narrow escapes.
