RUMFORD – Cathy Godwin, a nursing supervisor at Rumford Hospital, recently sat on a panel to develop content for the National Council of Nursing Licensure Examination. She was one of six nurses from across the nation who met at NCLEX’s headquarters in Chicago to sit on the prestigious panel.
The NCLEX is designed to test knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry level. All nurses in the United States must take the NCLEX. Passing it is one of the requirements for attaining a nursing license.
A graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta School of Nursing, Godwin has been a registered nurse for eight years and has worked at Rumford Hospital since 2002. Before becoming a nursing supervisor, she cared for patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
A Maine native, Godwin and her husband live in Bryant Pond with their two children.
