LEWISTON – St. Mary’s Health System has named Maria Pete as wellness promotion coordinator for St. Mary’s Prevention and Wellness Program.

She provides oversight for the Take Charge! health screening program, the Lance Armstrong-supported Cancer Wellness Initiative, and programs for WorkMed and the Center for Physical Rehabilitation.

She was formerly wellness director for the Old Town-Orono YMCA. Her position involved personal and staff training, group fitness scheduling, and the implementation of the cardiac and pulmonary phase III rehab.

She lives in Lewiston with her husband and two daughters.
