LEWISTON — The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is accepting registrations for its Strutt Your Mutt walk and Dash for Dogs 5K run on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Both events will take place at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the run and walk begins at 9 a.m.

Event is a casual run/walk along the Androscoggin Riverside Trail. Dogs are welcome but not necessary. Team participation is encouraged. Dogs must be on leashes no longer than six feet (no retractable leashes) and have their current rabies vaccination. Dogs in heat are not allowed.

Cost to preregister is $25 in advance or $30 the day of the event. The money directly benefits animals at the Humane Society for food, shelter, veterinary care and the chance at a new home.
